Cake smash baby photos have become very popular these days. As a way to mark the 1st birthday, parents now love to have photos taken of their babies enjoying a birthday cake and getting messy. While I love a good cake smash, I also love to incorporate portraits of the baby that will stand the test of time. My all time favorite and most requested shot is what I refer to as the “booty shot.” I ask the parents to bring in some stuffed animals to make it more personal them, and I line up the animals with the baby dressed in their birthday suit and shoot from behind. There’s nothing cuter! I had also done their newborn photos for this family so it’s extra special for me to see these babies a year later. Below are some favorites from their recent session.
