My advice is to let go of any expectations of cooperation and think more along the lines a play date. This will not be a stiff family portrait session like you may find at other portrait studios. You should expect your family portrait session to be laid-back and fun!

Children are encouraged to run around and play, jump on the bed, get a little muddy in the park or sandy on the beach.
