The cookie monster cake smash seems to be a growing theme. I’ve had a few clients recently who chose this look. The funny thing about the blue frosting is that it turns the baby’s skin blue. So I end up sending your baby home looking like a smurf 🙂 Wipes can only do so much to remove the blue food coloring, but I’ve been told that a long soak at home in the tub is all it takes to turn them human again!

Cake smash photoshoots have gotten very popular! Families like to mark the first birthday milestone with a fun photoshoot at the studio where the baby gets to go to town on a cake. For one year sessions, I always encourage the family to do other portraits besides the cake smash ones. We’ll get some family photos, some nice portraits of the baby by himself before he makes a mess, and then we’ll do the cake smash.
