A Little Guidance from a Miami Family Photographer
As a family photographer, one of the most common questions I receive from clients is, “What should we wear to our family photo shoot?” I love this question because it means my clients are thinking about the color scheme of their portraits in advance. When planning a family portrait, I always suggest clothing for each family member that has the same tone, not necessarily color. My biggest piece of advice, though, is to be wary of stripes, plaid, and words and logos on clothing – this can be VERY distracting.

Luckily, we have a pretty moderate climate year-round here in Miami, so you don’t really have to vary your look by season.
One family that always seems to coordinate their clothing beautifully is the family in the pictures below! The pinks, creams and denim look so perfect together. This is the third year in a row that I’ve photographed this handsome group, and the boys could not look cuter in their matching button-down shirts, with sweaters and blue jeans. I love the way the boys outfits match, while mom and dad’s outfits are complementary.
